Sow seeds under cover in March in good quality seed compost. Cover lightly with soil and keep warm and evenly moist during germination. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual pots.

Plant outside after mid-May, when the risk of frost has passed, or grow on in a greenhouse or polytunnel for the best results. Choose a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil.

Growing Tips

Water regularly, especially during dry periods and while fruits are forming. Feed with a suitable vegetable or tomato fertiliser once flowering begins. Keep the area weed-free to reduce competition for water and nutrients. Harvest regularly to encourage the plant to keep producing more fruits.
