Growing Information

Catmint Nepeta seeds can be sown under cover from March to May, or directly outdoors from May to June once the soil has warmed.

Sow seeds at a depth of around 1 cm, covering lightly with soil. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged during germination.

Plant young Catmint plants outdoors from August to September, giving them time to establish before winter. Space plants around 20 x 30 cm apart to allow good growth and air circulation.

Catmint grows best in a sunny position, although it can also tolerate partial shade. It prefers well-drained soil and does not like excessive moisture. Trim faded flower spikes to encourage further blooming.
