Sowing Instructions

• Sowing depth: Approx. 0.5 cm
• Sow Swamp Milkweed seeds under cover in March to April, or sow directly outdoors in May once the soil has warmed.
• Sow seeds at a depth of around 0.5 cm and keep the soil slightly moist during germination. Plant seedlings outdoors in May, once the risk of frost has passed.

Growing Conditions and Care

• Plant spacing: 50 x 50 cm
• Soil pH: 6.0–7.5
• Choose a sunny position or light partial shade with fertile, well-drained and moderately moist soil. Space plants around 50 x 50 cm apart to allow good air circulation and strong growth.
• Water during dry periods and remove faded flowers to help keep plants tidy and encourage a longer flowering display.

Flowering and Garden Use

• Growing to around 90–100 cm tall, Swamp Milkweed makes a lovely background plant or garden feature. Its fragrant flowers bloom from July to September and attract butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects.
