Overview

Mizuna is a fast-growing Japanese leafy green with finely cut leaves and a fresh, mildly peppery flavour. It is excellent for salads, stir-fries, mixed leaves and repeated harvesting.

How to Grow

Sow from mid-April to the end of August, directly into prepared soil or containers. For larger plants, allow approximately 25cm between rows and thin seedlings where necessary. Harvest can begin in around six to eight weeks.

Growing Conditions & Care

Keep the soil evenly moist for tender leaves. A sunny or lightly shaded position works well, especially during warmer weather.

Harvesting & Use

Harvest young leaves for salads or allow plants to mature for stir-fries, soups and cooked greens.
